Yeah, seriously. Now your $20k Civic is going to run you $25k or more depending if you "build" the motor with cams, K-Pro,etc. For a few grand over that, get an S2000 if you can make do with a 2 seater, or else get an EVO RS.

Your statements are not answering my questions. If you dont know it dont leave ur input! I was just wondering if the engine mounts are the same.
Its like me saying why did you waste all that extra money on an Si when you can buy a Tl for not much more or in this case something faster? I doubt your going to leave your Si stock. Not trying to be a dick but these are stupid answers to my question.
It's not just the k20. Everything on the si is beefed up. Axels brakes suspension not t to mention the frame has extra support. Plus the electronic power steering that helps get one more pully off the engine. Plus a ton of other ****. The list goes on and on. The coupe ex and si share nothing but the frame as far as all its performance angels.
Like the guy in the post above said sell it and buy an si.

Cant i just get an answer to my question! this feedback is just wasting my time! I didnt get an Si! Around my way they were beefing up the price of an si to 27-28 and for that price i would just buy something nicer. So forget the si and just asnwer the question.
I dont have and answer and I wont bust your chops. However you may be one of the first to do this, there arent that many FG's on the roads yet and I doubt very many have been swapped yet. I would say time to get out the old measuring tape and do some figuring if no one on here can give you an answer.
Good luck!
Good luck!
thanks i figured nobody did it yet but im figuring its the same thing i think im gonna pop a hood on the ex the si and rsx and see if the mounts match up then i should be ok. Im not set on doing it but its just an idea.

Why would you want to do this anyway? Just to say you did it? Its not worth it.
Like I said before you can find one if you look. Go to VTEC.net, there are dealers on there all the time selling cars at reasonable prices

In no way is it worth it at all when you can go buy an already swaped one from honda with even better parts and the reliability of oem.
But, to answer your question in this months Sport Compact Car there is a write-up on swapping a k24 in an si and they used hasport mounts. I would contact hasport to see if they have mounts for the thing first off.

New solution, trade in the EX for an RSX-S, if there is a such a HUGE markup on Si's in your area, get the RSX-S they list around 23K. Still much cheaper than swapping the K20A into your EX.
true true but i was sut wondering! I was ust thinking of some future plans. Reason why i bought the ex was to stop racing and spending money on my hatch and kinda grow up. But i was just wondering if i wanted to go back to my bad habits how much would i be looking at to do it.

OEM tranny mount MAY BE completely different for si compared to jdm k20a or k20a2 (02-05) I will post when I find out for sure. motor mounts are the same....cluster will be looking for '05+ speed sensor signal (different than earlier models) as of now you can only use '05 speed sensor in '05+ tranny
other possible issues
- throttle by wire??? which presents probs for K-pro

stupid comments also come from stupid people, but thats neither here nor there. . .
i'm also curious as well... i have an EX... reason I didn't get the Si is because I do a lot of coummuting right now, 70mile round trip 5 days a week, EX is better on gas than the Si.. in the future when the warrenty is up (like 6 years from now) i'll want to do a swap. .

as for a comment like this... was this type of **** said to people who bought 2000 civic ex's .. were they told to... "GO BUY THE SI STUIPD" instead of.. swap a b18c5 instead of the sorry *** b16?? i mean c'mon man
these are all honda cars... all honda motors, all interchangeable (for the most part, dont try to be a smart *** and prove me wrong with with sayin puttin an s2000 into a 4g hatchback or something retarded like that) . . . i dont see why everyone is makin a fuss over this question... "what can he swap" the first 4-5 comments are just not very helpful and those people shouldn't have even posted those worthless comments in the first place
as far as the question at hand from the OP, i assume (although there is still research to be done) that all you need is the motor and it would swap right in.. same chasis... pretty much it's the same car as the Si, minus the motor. . a 1" larger front rotor, and small other miniscule things..

i'd like to see concrete evidence of your statement here... in my opinion, thats the biggest load of crap i've read so far ... "extra frame support" give me a break. . .
according to the official http://www.honda.com website, there are miniscul differences between the two cars (aside from the obvious motor), here is a link CLICK HERE

oh the buys at hondata are workin on that ****.. kind of interesting how honda put the ECU for the 06+ civic in the engine bay... but they have cracked a few things so far

The 2006 Si's ECU, unfortunately, is not like the earlier K-series units. As far as we know, it is completely new. Even worse, the engine management system now incorporates both a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) and MAF (mass air flow) sensor - most likely in an effort to better control emissions. This meant that Hondata needed to not only crack the new ECU (something they seem to get quicker and quicker at), but they needed to figure out Honda's control scheme for fueling using both the MAP and MAF sensors. So far, they have been successful on one of these two tasks. Fueling has not been cracked to date, but Hondata can now control everything else - cam timing, ignition timing, rev limiters, VTEC, etc.

for 05+ RSX-S it was to install '02-04 ECU with an adapter harness...
on skunk2 project TSX throttle by wire was eliminated & custom cluster was needed to get the correct speed on speedo...as well as using a 02-04 k-pro'd ecu with custom harness

oops i can see a typo in that quote lol.. "THE GUYS at hondata [...]" anyway
i dont think that will be the case. the guys at hondata (according to my reading and video watching from TOV) will be doing their own thing for the 06Si ECU... i think they're going to crack that **** all the way for tuning purpose etc. .
like i was tellin you via PM, here are pics of the Si tranny

Sport Compact Racer has a writeup on a K24 swap. Your going to spend six or seven g's for the swap and all the parts needed to complete it. And that's if you do it yourself.

you'll be looking at 220+ whp 180lb/ft tq at least (in that 6 or 7g's you have $$$ for k-pro, DTR/BURNS/HYTECH header <--- thats about $2,000 there) with k24....look at what a base si is laying down
don't even ask how much I have spent on my jdm k20a ek swap
but it will be fast as *****

Hey Mr know it all, it's all in black and white over at Temple of vtec. Every thing I say is factual I don't make things up. If you actually did some research prior to questioning my motives here maybe you would tone down the attitude a bit. All the videos are under there rumors and news section as well as home and other various parts of the site. Obviously you are not as informed as you think you are. So unless you want to look like you know even less then you do now go and do some research. I have been following the new si since it's concept was revealed early last year and know every bit of info ever released on it.
Yes EVERYTHING has been beefed up on the si in order to handle all the extra power and torque from the other models.
