alright, well im in the process of selling my 90 Integra LS, 5speed and possibly buying a 96 Prelude, Auto. personally, I HATE autos, i always feel like im forgetting something when i drive them, i NEED a clutch! lol. well anyways i was just wondering if this was a wise choice or not. the lude comes with a performance exhaust and an intake, i have more into my teg, but i wanted a new platform. the prelude is going for about 3g. just looking for some opinions.
oh and would it be rice if i did an r34 taillight conversion on the lude? i was never a fan of that triangular style taillight. thanks for the words.
EDIT:
oh and i forgt to mention, unlike the teg, the lude would be for show mostly, not a daily driver. the teg was my lil road warrior

keep the taillights stock or clear out the amber if you aren't feelin the amber. whatever you do, don't do that r34 shiznot.
3g doesnt sound bad</TD></TR></TABLE>
yeah, please do leave the stock ones... looks sexy the way it is...

Stock taillights for sure
3g is a low price, if its in good shape that's a great deal. And if you feel that strongly about not like automatics then just wait until a nice Manuel comes around.

no one was planning on warning this guy about the crappy auto transmissions? If you plan on doing a 5 spd conversion go for it, but if you were planning on keeping it auto, you might want to reconsider. Prelude auto trannies are pieces of crap.

how so? ive driven the prelude before, and its not really all that bad. a little lag between shifts, but i figured that was SOP with autos anyways. do explain!

one other thing, now that i think about it. the auto shifter is right in the way of the cd player, this wasnt a problem on my friends 92 5spd lude. so is it only going to be a problem as long as its auto?

Thats because that is a 5th gen problem, not 4th. 5th gens have the Sequential Sportshift, which is known be have major reliablilty issues. 4th gens have regular automatics, and don't have major issues like that.

/\He is correct, i had ZERO problems with my 4th gens f22a1 auto tranny. Shifted fine everytime, just change the fluid and dont rape it like neutral drops. 2 main things that kill auto trannies are Dirt and Heat.
On the other hand the 5th gen's shitshift is junk.

i like the clear look better, it's classier, but cops/day time would be something to consider

I haven't heard of any problems with the 4th gen automatics like the 5th gen Preludes, so I doubt it'll give you trouble mechanically in the future. However, if you can get your hands on a 5sp then by all means get it!
