Default SMS Header & exhaust

Does SMS have a website? I am interested in his headers and exhaust systems. I have already seen the pics of Warrrens header and race muffler.
Is the streetable 2.5" exhaust system available yet (bolt-on, not welding)?
Also, How long have you all waited to get his header and exhaust systems built and shipped to you?

He also keeps his price down by using Cheaper material, running a business out of his HOME and utilizing poor craftmanship...faster production exhaust components. Oh ya, saving R&D time and money helps to lower the price of a product. Just some thoughts I had. By the way what is the going rate for sms header and cat back exhaust?

I am pretty sure your guess is correct ,
But you dont understand, I have been waiting longer than most of the members on this board had their ITRs. I saw the original designed header that he had made for skunkworks(Yes, I mean skunkworks) that went under the pan. I have seen other members on this board get there headers before mine.

I am tired of the run around, it seems he does not want to make his header for me and I am now looking for an alternative. Please let me know more about your header designs and direct me to your website if you have one.

Why do these two posts not fit together?

LOL. Why is it that header/exhaust guys out in California insist on being ********?

If you're going to spread garbage, at least make sure it's accurate.

a) I didn't realize stainless exhausts were considered cheap. His headers are nicely coated mild steel.
b) Dave works from a shop in an industrial park.
c) His welds (tig and mig) are top notch.
d) I hate Californians more every day.

Why don't you call John and tell him your dalema. Talked to him. He's a really easy guy to talk to. Let him know your problem (nicely) and he'll take care of it. Customer satisfaction is Johns biggest concern.

I guess the comment about ******** pretty much covers us all! NICE. anyways, John is in the business of building headers and selling them to consumers for a price. He then, in return for his work, receives payment. Logic would say either John doesn't want to build you a header, which couldn't be true because I know John and he loves building headers, or there was some miscommunication or God forbid mistake. Why don't you call him I find out whats up. (949) 581-2181. Chris

Ah. Thank you for explaining. I thought you were bagging on Dave (SMSP). I've met Dave several times, and have seen enough examples of his craftsmanship to make me drool. I will be purchasing one of his 2.5" cat-backs, once they are readily available.

Sorry you've had troubles with your previous dealings. Give Dave a call - you will not be disappointed.

Also, Warren ....whats up buddy. Seem kinda bitter. ******** are big, kinda like your mouth. Give me a break! And to compare the quality in an SMS header with a HY TECH header is funny. Nice one. Hate to say but it's like comparing Apples to well Oranges. Apples just sound better when you eat'em. Take it easy. Us flatlanders in Cali would appreciate it.

I have been in contact with him for so long,
I went to his shop before any of you guys (Only the select few drag racers) knew that he did anything for Hondas, after seeing one of his very first designs for B-series motors (That was for skunkworks) while at his shop, he actually filled out a work order and took my credit card number and wrote it on the work order with my contact info. I have spoken with him also face to face at the last expo and he assured me that mines is coming along.
There are so many people that I know ordered after me(and some that I dont know) have already got their header that it is not even funny.

1. LIP got it (He told me to patient as he made it for him to test out his new design and plus he was going to do a header test, I said okay)
2. vagoitr got it (He is testing the prototype, I said okay)
3. Mike M. got it (He got the show polished prototype, okay)
4. Austin you got it ( )
5. NAB20C5 got it ( )
6. Marelene got it ( )
7. Dave got it (And he is in JAPAN!)
8. other guys who got it that I dont know???

That's right...you're getting a Lip style header...man those look like a bitch to make. I should have asked him about it today when I had him on the phone...bummer

[EDIT]Mike M didn't receive his header until I hand delivered it on my way back from the EXPO last year...Lip was first, I was second(first for street design), vago was next...[/EDIT]

I've seen both Hytech headers and SMS headers in person, prior to purchasing an SMS. The build qualities are equal. OMFG, what's that? Yes, Contrary to what you would like to believe, there are other folks out there quite capable of making nice headers, only Dave's headers aren't made of unobtanium, and he doesn't go around calling folks "Lilly white asses" (pssst, that's a quote from John@Hytech). What's funny is that I might have bought a Hytech if John just shut up and never posted anything. Instead, we are subjected to disserations on how his header improves transient response, and why every idea that John has had is original, and everyone else is a thief. Why can't he let word of mouth do the talking?

Then there's you. I have no idea what swamp you crawled out of, or what tar pit you got your information from, but I wish you would go back. It's one thing to be an ******* and be correct. It's another to be an ******* and be incorrect. Guess which category you fall under?

I get great local support too. Dave took time out of a weekend to come out to the track, fit a new prototype header, built at my request, and asked me for feedback. I also paid less than what Hytech wants for just their header (no I'm not sponsored). Last I heard, a Hytech (header only) was $1300.
