Alonso's comment
quote from Fernando Alonso about Rossi and motorcycle racing :
"Until we see him race we won't know his true potential, but it will be very difficult for him," he said. "He might finish fifth or even get on the podium some time, but I could do the same on the bikes if I was given a bit of time to practise."
Okay...

PSHHT! He's gotten alot cockier since his world championship. Not like I have exp with either F-1 cars or GP machines, but one would think its easier to make the trasition from cars to bike rather than vice versa. Besides, Im hoping McLaren has something for his punk *** this season.
Where did you get that quote MSchu?

Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 champion:
"Looking at how he's (Rossi) going, however, he should give up motorbikes and join us. Maybe I should move to bikes.
"I think it's perfectly normal that he should be driving well, even if the last few tenths are always the hardest to gain."

I don't understand his opinion on this matter through this comment. Can someone enlighten me?

and i wouldnt doubt alonso. the f1 guys are amazing. i mean when kenny robert raced back in the day he let mario andretti ride his machine and mario was only a half second off of the eventual winners race pace. i think it was the old USGP back in the 80s.
anyways i believe that it would be more difficult to switch from bikes to cars than from cars to bikes.

The hardest part about going fast is psychological—just ask Keith Code. The mechanics of the vehicle are easily learnable, so it doesn't come to me as a surprise that Rossi is fast in both rally and F1, and It wouldn't surprise me if an F1 driver posted some seriously quick times on a bike. A brake is a brake, a throttle a throttle, but knowing how and when to use both to go the fastest is purely mental.
