Default Engine swap parts, will they transfer to the other engine?

Well here it is, got a hold of a used D16Y8. Now here is the dilly yo. I know about most of the stuff, tranny bolts in, and all that junk. But my question is, can I used the D15's A/C, Alternator, pulleys and things on the D16? Do I have to buy completely new ones? Cool beans. What kind of ECU should I get, I don't plan on keeping hte 4th Gen one much longer. Okay just wondering. Thank you.

you're gonna want a 88-91 si tranny....the tranny on the y8 wont bolt up. get a p28 ecu out of the 92-95 civics and wire your car up for OBD1... most stuff (a/c, etc.) will bolt up to the block.

yes you can use your stock ac from your car. when I swapped the y8 into my 91 crx i did not disconnect my ac. I unbolted the compressor and zip tied it to the front crossmember.

If you want to use the crx ac compressor you have to use the mounting bracket for your old motor. The ac compressor mounting bracket for the y8 has different spacing where the compressor mounts to the bracket, but the 4 bolts that hold the bracket to the block are the same.

The alternator will work as well, the crx alt has one less groove in the alt pulley
compared to the y8 motor. I bought aem power pulleys so that cured the problem.

you need to use your upper motor mount bracket from your stock crx motor as well and trim it so the timing belt does not hit it.

Run a p28 ecu.

If you need help with the swap, check this post. I went into pretty good detail about the swap and there are pics.

You have to get a wiring harness to make it OBD-1, and swap this and that. Another option is to go to http://www.Zdyne.com
They have the one wire VTEC conversion, and you're able to keep it non OBD. I think it's simpler, but it's up to you. I'm very happy with mine.

which intake manifold did you use? A6 injectors and whatnot??? The zdyne ecu cost what 350 for the one wire vtec right?

Blown90hatch's harness=75-100 in group buy
p28 ecu = 100
10 for 7 wires 6 ft in length
2- two prong toggle switch
Repin the sohc vtec ecu so you arent using a 10+yr old dist
repin injector clips to work with the obd1/obd2 injectors and fuel rail
solder 5 wires together at fuel injector resistor.

Yeah it is alot cheaper to go zdyne (and I have nothing against zdyne) its just cheaper to go the obd1 route, and have a vtec motor that runs based upon rpm only and not coolant and vtec oil pressure?????
