so i found some guy today driving a type r. i was championship white and stripped down and made a ls. i know it was a type r because of the vin and color code.. the dude has no clue what he is driving. he bought it from a auction. now anyways it has been stripped of all its great. the only thing left is the emblems and lower tie bars.

now what would you all pay for something like this. i want there to be one more type R alive and i want it to be mine

 

I say leave it as it is...Looks like a stock RS. A thief would never know.

 

where did u see the vin? are u sure it's an R? someone would be stupid enough to make an R look like that, even to the point of changing it to the 4 lug wheels?

 

probably stolen and stripped and then rebuilt w/ cheaper integra parts. motor would probably be a LS too

maybe he doesnt want the attention and thief attraction that comes with a type r...

not that thats what he did..
definately not a bad idea though, unless you like getting your car stolen

Hahaha...I believe Cosworth's old ITR looks like an RS. LoL!

 

the vin on the dash, doors and door jamb. he poped the hood it had a ls in it. i guess it was a theft recovery. they took everything. he wants to sell it and i dont know how much to offer. all it is now is a type r shell with a whole **** load of garbage on it

 

I don't know if this helps, but I had a 99 LS Integra shell...no motor or trans that I was selling for $1200...theft recovered title...maybe that can give you some starting point...at least this car runs and drives and is an awesome color

and we all noticed it was a type r super fast because of the color. the no side moldings. the lower side skirts painted. no sun roof. and a quick look showed the lower tie bars. when where looking at it in front of the mcdonalds the guy ran out thinking we where trying to steal it. we asked if it was a type R and he said. "yea thats what they told me at the insurance and that it would be higher. i dont evan know what a type r means. i want to sell it cause the insurance is to high for it." some people just dont deserve what they have

 

lets not forget, no matter WHAT YOU DO to your ITR, its still an INTEGRA and INTEGRAS are one of the most stolen cars on the planet.

you're an idiot, those people shold be buying LS Integras in the first place, do you think we just buy Type Rs for the badge number so we could come onto internet forums saying "y0 i g0t ITR#..." no, it's the best factory handleing and functioning FWD car made to date, buying one to turn into an LS or an RS or whatever the hell you're thinking is the stupidest thing i've heard all week next to what KOALA is currently ranting about...

i will get it for you. it also has a cali re issued vin. but that vin is the same as the first.

What the hell is the point of having a Type-R if it has the performance of an LS???

I really want to say somethings that would **** you off but its just not very nice. I can see a point in changing the exterior of an ITR to look like an RS (LSs have sunroofs). Just because you debadge, remove a wing and replace a five lug w/ a four lug doesn't mean you lose the characteristcs of an R. I see it all the time. Why do people remove the wing and decals? Just to tone down an ITR...then there are the people who put R stickers on an RS or and LS....hmmm...doesn't make sense. I say people who promote their R as an R, are begging for drama. Thats just my opinion.

You would think that this car would be less likely to get stolen in a parking lot if it was sitting next to another R.

And remember a 4 lug is 30lbs lighter then a 5 lug. And you can get the same braking performance using Prelude rotors and Calipers.

Man, you're fired up aren't you...go drive or something...you need to calm down.

true, it seems like the current owner just don't know about R's and seems like doesn't care for R's. it's not his fault.

 

if it was really an ITR wouldnt he be paying the ITR insurance rates?....
