Default OEM or Aftermarket

I just bought a 95 Civic EX and I need a new timing belt and a water pump and I was wondering if I should go buy the parts from honda and get the OEM parts or if it would be cool if I went to autozone or something and bought aftermarket because my budget isnt really flexable right now, and if it'd be a big difference I'd spend more but if it doesnt really matter I'll go to autozone

oem, the parts are farily cheap.... it's the install/labour that cost so much I think you can get both for under 200 or maybe less

i'm not saying one is better or not, but I would rather go with Honda brand for something so critical..

Buy from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com or http://www.slhonda.com for OEM parts for a non-so-OEM price .

if you can find a gates brand belt it is of the same quality of the oem belt. as for the water pump, oem will keep you out of trouble later on. if you are doing it yourself don't forget to replace your cam and crank seals while you have it all apart.

I wouldn't skimp on something like a timing belt. Go OEM and have some peace of mind.
