Removing smog devices
I am building a road race car and i would like to remove it.....but before doing so other than saving weight.what other benefits does it have on a track car? and anyone have an engine diagram to show which part should be removed but would affect the engine idling etc ?
With the exception of the catalytic converter, there are really no smog devices per say on these cars. It is not like there is an air pump or EGR valve you can remove. Pretty much everything emissions related is in the programming of the ECU.
what engine are you talking about
my d16a6 has crankcase ventalation with pcv valve
and the vent for the top end
but no smog pump or any thing
i heard it was very bad for the engine not to have the crank case hooked up
and beleive it to because when my was just left open to vent my car ran worse

Okay. All of these motors have crankcase and evaporative emission parts. But removing these does little to nothing in terms of improving performance.
