Default 88-91 civic hb differences

Does anyone know of the basic visual and mechanical differences between the 88-91 civic si hb's? I was just wondering cause i just bought a 90 civic si hb and it has rear drum brakes. But my 90 crx si has rear disc. Thanks alot.

Well if I remember the crx was the sportier car, and the civic si was the family sedan not offered with rear rotors. Only the late 90-91 crx si were offered with 4 disc rotors, the civic was more of a family car, while the crx was just a 2 seater.

I just figured my crx had them then the civic would to. The guy i bought it from shaved the exterior door handles years ago and they dont look very good. Does anyone know what different door handles would be a direct bolt in after cutting the holes back to stock( besides the obvious 90 civic si hb handles)? Thanks

My friend also has a 90 hatch si and I was laughing at him when I found out he didnt have rear disc brakes.......another reason y crx's kick ***! If you really want them that bad, just do the conversion, plenty of people sell the stuff to do it on HT.

Would the door handles off a crx fit this civic?

only 90-91 CRX's had back disc brakes..like mentioned above..crx's were more of the sportier verson of the hatch..had more options, different dash etc..

heres the things i know for a basic visual between the 4 years..

88-89 civics had 2 screws where the corner lights are, 90-91's just have one screw on top(hidden inside fender or something like that)
88-89 and 90-91 had different style bumpers and taillights if i'm not mistaking

the guage cluster on the 88-89 were square..90-91's were more of a round shape

but besides that..all had the same motor/tranny..90-91 ECU's have a better fuel map and thats about all i know

Drums hold better then rotors. Personally I see no point in doing a rear disc conversion other then looks. It even adds weight to the car.
