NSX owners: do you experience w/ TEIN RA?
I've looked on SOS's and Dali's web page and am pretty sure I'd like to pick a set of these up. But I'm wondering what spring rate that'd be best. The car is about 50/50 driver/track queen and I'm not worried about the ride quality at all. Heck, my wife doesn't even drive a manual. Anyway, I'm interested to hear what others think.
On SOS's website, someone mentions that it's the ultimate track suspension. I hope so - but at what spring rate? And with what sway bar?
My current setup is: koni adjustables, eibach springs, and daili street/race sway bar.
Thanks!

I haven't experienced the Tein RA's first-hand. I very much want to, though, based on reports from other people who have them.
I think it's a little excessive to say they are "the ultimate track suspension". Certainly Moton, JRZ, or Penkse shocks would be able to perform better. But it's probably safe to say that to get any better than the Teins, you'd have to spend much more than twice as much.
They come with ~550 lb/in front and ~650 lb/in rear, which is a pretty well-proven spring rate setup (a local race shop duplicated that setup on a car using ground controls and custom-valved konis, and the car is just monstrously fast in the corners).
When you say you've got Eibach springs... Do you have the Eibach lowering springs, or do you have ground-control sleeves with the linear rate eibachs? Just curious. I have ground controls and koni yellows (not custom valved), and I don't really like my setup. It gets the job done, but not as well I would hope. I wish Teins had been readily available for $1500 when I bought my suspension, it would have been a no-brainer.

The Eibachs are basically the lowering springs. I looked into the Ground Controls but for that price I thought why not just get Tein RA's. I'd really like to be able to corner weight my car and the weight savings is almost too good to be true.
I'm going to post on the NSX forums and see what kind of feedback I get. We'll see. . .

Tein is definitely the obvious choice when considered against ground controls with off-the-shelf konis. However, I bought my suspension about 14 months ago, and at that time it would cost me $2000+ for the Teins, and it just didn't seem worth the extra $700.

Have you got your NSX cornerweighted with the coilovers?
That's one of the advantages I'm interested in w/ the Teins. I just have to find someone around here that would do it for me.
Don't feel like paying a grand for a scale system. Heck, that's a downpayment on a BBSC.
Oh, spoke with one of the BBSC vendors today and it was stated that higher HP version was going to cost about another 3K. I'm out on a limb here but I'd guess that with the increase in boost and aftercooler that the SC would be putting out around 450-475rwhp. Now that, my friend, is crazy.

With that much power, first gear would be frightening. Hell, so would second gear. As it is, with 268rwhp, I rarely floor it in 1st gear, but second gear is a lot of fun, and can seem slow up hills.
Anyway... Yes, my car is corner-balanced. Any race shop should be able to do that for you. Another interesting thing about the height-adjustable suspension, is that you can tweak ride height front and back pretty freely. Raising one end of the car doesn't change the corner weights (because the CG doesn't move horizontally enough to notice). However, lowering or raising one end of the car can have a pretty substantial effect on handling. For example, raising the front (or lowering the rear), will give the back end more grip from having a lower CG, and also make the car more stable under braking, and less prone to lift-throttle oversteer. Conversely, lowering the front end has a big effect on turn-in and low-speed balance, because of increased grip from lower CG in the front. Plus, once you get your car corner balanced, as long as you count the number of turns you do to change height, and do it the same amount left and right, your corner weights will stay correct.
I have yet to do an analysis of toe change with ride height change... Something I plan to do next time I get an alignment, if the shop is willing to cooperate. What I am hoping is that with lower ride height, that the rear will toe-in and the front will stay mostly the same or even toe-out. That way, I would be able to have a street ride height with plent of clearance and mild toe (for tire wear), and then at the track, take 15-20 minutes to lower the car significantly, and get lower ride height for better CG, more negative camber, and more toe. I'm pretty sure the rear will toe in, but I have a feeling the front will also toe in as well. There's also the question of how much.
