street coilovers.... best choices?
iam looking for a little drop, i dont want anything lowered to the max, my car is daily driven, i have had groundcontrol and skunk2 in the past, but now i use my car for work, iam willing to spend the money on a full coilover syste, i dont want a harsh race ride.

how much are you willing to spend?
I had TEIN BASIC DAMPER on my 95 DC2 and i thought the ride was a bit rough so i sold them and got a set of TANABE PRO S S. The ride is much smoother when the setting is on midway for both front and rear. I recently got them so i havent had the chance to mess around with them. Right now i have the front dropped to the lowest setting and im scraping my wheel welds and also going up driveways so im gonna raise it. I think that whatever set up you get just look for good spring rates. The TEIN i had was a 8K front and 6K rear and some consider that moderate rates but it was a bit rough for me so i went with 6K front and 4K rear with the TANABES. Its a bit soft but i drive my car daily so its okay. And it handles very well at full FIRM.
TEIN FLEX has a shitty spring rate. 9K front and 4K rear. You might want to look at the TEIN SUPER STREET too. I did a lot of research before purchasing my setup so i hope this little review helps.

just get custom rate springs for your GC or skunk2 kit and a real damper. just because omni or ksport spent money to have the shock and spring anodized the same color doesn't mean they're any better than a properly assembled coilover-shock combo.
for comfort there's 2 things going on: spring rate and damping. Spring rates determine how stiff the ride is, damping determines how "bouncy" the ride can be. yes that's a simplified answer, but the way you get a comfortable ride is:
a) don't lower the car too much
b) pick the right spring rates
c) pick the right damper for said spring rates
don't spend extra money on "full coilovers" because that whole "our dampers are specially mated to our springs" is just fancy talk for proper valving. something you can get when you buy a koni yellow and use it with any spring under 600 lbs/in.
