Default Valve Cover Question

So i tried to install the JDM valve cover today and ran into some problems...

The first is that my 10mm Socket turned into a circular hole instead of a hex when I was trying to loosen the spark plug nuts.

Then, I gave up on that and moved over to the two nuts at the top of the valve cover and that was just as hard to loosen, it still did not even budge, while my socket was becoming more and more like a circle.

I ran into the second problem after I gave up installing and put everything back together. The breather hose, as pictured, is connected and everything but it is loose. Really really loose. I can pull it on and off with ease, not like how it was when I first pulled it off.

Note: The picture with the breather hose has the little silver clamp closer to the blue tube, I moved it already and it is still uneasingly loose.

So my questions are

1. What brand sockets do you recommend so that they will not snap when I attempt to take on those nuts again? I cannot believe they did not even move a little, is there any special way to take them out?

2. Is the breather hose being loose normal? I thought that the engine would sort of 'vaccum seal' it when I let it run for a little, but it didnt..

uhhhh Snap-On should work JUSSSST FINE and as for the breather hose... you need to put the clamp back on the hose closer to the valve cover rather than closer to the blue hose like you said, youll need some needle nose pliers just to squeeze the clamp a little to get it onto where it should be, hope all works out for ya....good luck

Did some research, people are posting about a new gasket with the valve cover. So I guess I'll wait to pick that up from the dealer with some hondabond and then do some shopping for the 10mm socket.
