swapping parts from a D15B2 auto to a manual
I just recently purchased a wrecked 90 CRX DX with a "working before the accident" automatic D15B2. My current 90 CRX DX has a manual D15B2 with a blown headgasket and most likely a warped cylinder head. Not sure about the block though. It's a long story so here are some links in case you're bored...

My dad's friend was supposed to pick up both cars and get me back up and running again. This was back in December/January though. I't s now mid-February and I've got 2 non-running CRXs just sitting around.
Anyways, I'm getting tired of waiting. If I don't hear from my dad's friend this weekend I think I may tackle this myself. What do I need to remove/replace from both engines so I ultimately have a running manual D15B2 again? Are there any writeups online or anyone who've done something similar that can provide some input? Is this something I can do myself with or without my dad? Will it take more than a weekend of good weather? Is there someone in northeastern PA who'd be willing to help out? Or should I just wait it out and get my dad's friend to fix it?
Thanks in advance!

you better wait if you have not done it before. help your dad and his friend out so that you can learn. best way to know how to do these kind of stuff is to do it. it is very easy if you know what you are doing. my suggestion is to help out and learn what you can from it. it will be worth it.
I hear you. I'd rather my dad and his friend (who both have experience with engines) work on it but I've already been waiting 2 months now! Kinda sucks looking at 2 non-running CRXs just sitting there. I'll probably end up waiting as working on the cars out in the open (I don't have a garage) in the cold Pocono winter isn't very appealing. I guess I can work on completely stripping out the parts car as I wait eh?
Thanks for the reply!

I say go ahead and get cracking on it. It's not like you have anything to lose since neither of them run anyway.
My advice is to take mad pictures of the current car's engine bay as you remove things step by step. That way you have a reference on where everything goes and what it should look like when you reassemble. (I did this with my DA parts car but my computer managed to crash so I lost all the pics
)....but it would have been helpful I'm sure. Also I'm very glad that I labeled all small parts - bolts especially - in individual paper bags so I'd know where they went originally.
You can certainly do everything besides perhaps pull the engine/tranny physically out, all by yourself.
This goes to show you can't count on anyone but yourself.
