i used to have slight wheel hop when i had an open diff, but when i tried launching with my newly installed obx lsd the wheel hop is much more servere. is this normal with lsd trannys? my shocks is good and my tires are falken azenies. thanks

 

because now instead of wheelhopping one tire you are hopping two.

 

The wheel hop is from the Azenies. I had them and they hoped like a damn rabbit, but once I installed a set of Hasports, the wheelhop became wheel spin.

 

You are now hopping both tires making it seem all the worse. You might want to try some traction bars. Z10 Engineering makes a decent set.

 

ya the wheel hop is not caused by the LSD. It your tires that are causing the hopping.

 

Get rid of those tires and your problems will go away!

 

azenis are for turning, super stiff sidewalls

 

It could be caused by A number of things,
bad lca bushings
bad motor mounts
blown struts
tires

 

Change the tires to some BFG's and let us know how it goes

 

If your at the track, try lowering the tire pressure a bit. That usually takes it away.

Too much wheel hop may cause breakage to parts soon

 

Tires don't cause wheel hop.

It's always a problem with the suspension/motormount system.

FWIW, I have Azenis's on my DD Jetta... No wheel hop.
