Default 94-96 Center console

I own a 92 prelude and want to do the 94-96 center console, so i can gut the back of the car, but i was noticing the e-brake is off to the side in in the 94? Is it easy to move it or you cant? has anybody ever done this, if so is there a write up. Oh yeah do u think that 45 is a lot of money for the console at my local junk yard, the cup holder was broken, by broken i mean it wouldnt close.. thanks

I believe the 93 uses the same front console as the 92 but doesnt go into the back seats that might be easier. it also uses the same e brake.

the 94-96 actually uses a different e brake and you would need to pick that up too. which shouldn't be hard since you are already getting the console.

That's correct, if I wanted a 95 console in my 93 (wich I do) I would also need to change my e brake.

Is there a lot of work envolved in switching out the e brake, or is it simple

I believe it should just bolt right in. it uses the same cables too.

actually the ebrake cables for the 94-96 console are longer, and you will also need another base plate to connect the ebrake lever to the side of the console. I was looking into the same thing for my 93, wanted a bolt-in and go deal but it takes a lil extra work to make it fit.

i think there is little work to be done to make that 94 console fit. if you dont want to hassle with it, get a 93 console. same as 92 but stops in the front seat.

i got a 92 and i was able to make the 95 armrest one work. u have to make a base plate. i used flat 1/4"x 2" aluminum that i just had lying around bolted it to the car then drilled and bolted the 96 e-brake to it. i used my stock cables but i had to unbolt them from the underside of the car and pull them into the car more to reach to my e-brake. works good but looks 300 times better with my cupholder and armrest. maybe later i could get some pics up of my install.
