CR500?
Anyone of you have one of these? I have a chance to buy one. It's a 95 basically rebuilt. What would you guys say it's worth. It has all the bearings greased, new plastics, new cables, levers, top end, bars, tires, chain, fork seals, seat, and some other things. The frame has also been painted. The mods basically include Ported cylinder and FMF pipe and silencer. The bike is in like new condition. I think it's a little overpriced but don't know exactly how much it's worth. The only reason I'm considering this is I like the guy that built it a lot and trust him a lot. The biggest downside is that I won't be able to see it before buying it. What would you guys think it's worth? How reliable are they? Should I pick it up or is there a reason I should stay away from a 95?
BTW I'm thinking I'm going to sell my XR100 play bike to make room for it or if I don't get it a new ATV if anyone want's it for $850 obo pm me.

those bikes are fast as all hell and as long as its in good shape and well taken care of you shouldnt have a problem wit it.
but, i hope you can ride because that bike will chew you up and spit you off.

I can ride but not sure if I can ride enough for that I'm hoping I can. I'm coming off of a highly modified DRZ 400 well 440 now as it has a big bore kit on it which is pretty fast but not too bad I have a feeling the CR500 will kit it's *** when it comes to power.
Yes it has a clutch what kind of question is that.
I hope I like it as I bought it but it is still being put back together. Basically it's like new almost everything that was worn the slightest is new on it. The guy is still assembling the engine on it and it will be ready for me when he is done. He is about the only guy I'd trust to do whatever he wanted to my bike without explaining it to me. He knows what he is doing I have yet to meet anyone that knows bikes like he does so I know it's in great condition. He was building it for himself but ended up having to sell it.
I hope I like it and I really hope I can handle it.

Being a 95 it's a little old for me but being that everything is new It doesn't matter to me I'd just assume have a 95 with all new parts as I would a brand new bike.

absolutely no comparo between the 2. the 500 is a mean machine. you will ove it as long as you stay in the saddle.
if it wasnt for the emission issue here in cali i was thinking of either buyin a KX500 or CR500 and turning it into a motard and riding it around town. there really wouldnt be too much on the road that would hang from light to light and around town.
