Default del sol HELL!!! center console..

somebody know a trick that i do not?i took out center console piece(parking brake piece), then took out front center piece(shifter to stereo). It is a vtec model by the way(5 spd.).
Problem: now the parking brake piece will not go back in. it looks to be 1/2" too long. i have taken everything back out 5 times, tried to force it, tried to push the rear piece(with lock in center of it) back. nothing works. very pissed. very angry.
please help. thanks. dont tell me: just gut it. interior is mint.

is the shifter-stereo peice still out? try pulling up the e-brake then sliding the peice back in. shouldn't be too hard.

I have a 93 SI and had the same problem. The stereo piece tends to get stuck and doesnt go on all the way and that makes the center consol piece not go back on. Just try to ease it back on, take your time and inch your way from the back to the front of the peice.

Nope, the stereo shifter console piece goes in last. Put in the center console piece first, then put in the shifte piece
