Default Kenji, I need to talk to you about a some swap stuff.

From what I've read your the man. A friend of mine has a 00' gsr swap into his 92 hatch. The whole integra is in this car. From the carpet to the cruise control. Now, if he used the gsr ecu he cant start the car because of the key chip. He has been using a civic si ecu for the time being but one problem, the secondaries. What downfalls besides the secondary butterfly problem is he experiencing using that ecu and what would he have to do to make the gsr ecu work, if it was better to do so of course... Thanks

I'm not kenji. but..

you will need to get a hold of an OBD1 gsr ecu.. a 94-95 p72 ecu

you could also.. hook up the secondaries to the vtec wire, so that when vtec kicks in, the secondaries open up to... VVRRROOOOOOM
maybe get a APEXI S AFC Vtec and let it boost your fuel maps past 4500rpms

it may bog for just a second, but wow it's gonna take off

as for the immobilizer key chip, your gonna have to ask around, I know it can be bypassed..

Here is what you need to do:

Drop the '00 GS-R swap in the car using the '00 GS-R engine harness.

Get an OBD1 GS-R ECU.

Now here is the tricky part. The IAB plug is a two wire plug with two wires...red/blu and black. It is plugged into a black canister underneath the intake manifold. Cut the black wire and give it a 12V switched source . Make sure the 12V is going into the IAB plug and not back into the engine harness or you will pop your ECU fuse. You can get this from the yel/blk wires at the injector or IACV.

The reason you do this is due to the fact that the OBD1 GS-R ECU uses a negative trigger to engage the secondary runners at 5750 RPMs. The OBD2 GS-R ECU uses a positive trigger to activate the secondary runners.

Good luck.

The other problem is the car starting with the gsr ecu. He is currently running a b16 ecu because he has the acura steering column with a honda key and he cannot start the car if the gsr ecu is in there. He wants to know if that ecu is affecting his performance how does he get around the problem with the key. that b16 ecu can't pop his secondaries. Can he get away with the odb-I ecu.

Hey guys I got a question regarding my b16 head and b18c block into my '95 LS. The head is a 2gen (I think) and the block is a '98. Which ECU and distributor can I use for my swap. Really appreciate the help I can get?

You will need a OBD1 B-series DOHC VTEC distributor if you are using your OBD1 LS engine harness.

If I was you I would use a chipped P28 for your setup. I can hook you up with one of my chipped P28 ECUs if you want. Email me for more info. Thanks.

on the plug which location is which, don't have the wiring harness (meaning bottom is the black and the top is r/b right???)
so the r/b goes to A17 on the ecu and the black goes on to the positive 12v right???

the motor is also JDM OBDII with OBDI ECU but using sohc vtec harness

Adrian,

If I remember correctly the wire closest to the 'push tab' on the 2 wire plug is the signal wire (A17) and the other wire is 12V switched. This is the case with most of the two wire plugs on Honda engine harnesses (not all).

I am going from memory so PLEASE check a friend's GS-R engine harness to make sure.

is this applicable with all obd2 swaps into obd1 cars?

or is this only with 00+ with immobilizer in the ecu?

i asked about swaping obd2 b18c1 into obd1 eg and no one said anything about rewiring the iab.
