Default ? about brakes

i havea 98 prelude, base. the rear brakes are starting to squeek. firestone said it would be 500 bucks bc they gotta put new rotors on, but F that! could i do it myself? someone said they are pressurized on or something. i am pretty good with cars ive changed brakes but not on a prelude. thanks

Even if you buy the parts at the dealer the rotors are $91 a piece and the pads are $48. and you know firestone won't use oem so they will be cheaper.

you can definatly do it yourself. I would just make sure you have an impact screwdriver (autozone $10) to get out the set screws that hold the rotor on. The preludes brakes are like any other 4 wheel disc set-up

hope that helps

Did they say why you need new rotors? Unless your old ones are warped or thin, they'll be fine. Pads are $15 for a full rear set (Wearever) or $30 for premium (Bendix)
