Default 92-95 CIVIC optional audio console ?

I just got a optional audio console for my 92 civic. I was wondering how people are mounting their aftermarket headunits in the console? I have a panasonic and the hole on the back to screw the bracket in doesn't line up with the hole on the included metal bracket. How did yall go about mounting your headunits down there? Thanks.

custom baby...

the optional will only hold the stock unit from japan without any mods... anything else will need some form of mod/ rigging....

ok after working on it for 2 days, i finally got my panasonic into the audio console, it fits nice and tight but i don't have it screwed down or anything. It's kind of wedged in there with the storage pocket supporting it and the front of the console frame preventing it from being pulled out. I like it. i'll have pics 2morrow.

^ok finally in. At first I had the HU mounted above the pocket but I found the face was rubbing on the the upper edge of the console. I spent a good deal of time today relocating the HU below the pocket. I still dont have it secured by anything but everything around it is nice and tight fit.

V Here's what I'm working on next. I got a long armrest but now I gotta figure out how the rear bracket mounts for it.

If anyone got tips for securing the back of one of these ^, let me know. Not sure if i have to cut up the carpet or not.

Most aftermarket headunits come with a pliable metal strap with a bunch of holes in it. I'm sure you can bend it in a way where it's secured to the headunit and the metal frame.

I might try using the metal strap if I get a lot of skipping or shaking. I was having trouble bending it to fit. I got the armrest from user "CDUFF7" here on H-T.
