Throw out bearing? won't go into gear hardly, pics 2/16/06
I hear a noise in the tranny, some kinda chattering well i took the transmisson out and took off the ACT Heavy duty Preasure Plate, ACT extreme street disc, and ACT lb prolite flywheel..... and the Throw out Bearing seems make a clicking noise when i rock it back and forth, could that be the whole reason it won't go into gear smoothly. also i would like to say that this is a new tranny and i had the same notchyness with the old tranny could it have been the throw out bearing going out and then it just went out worse now. Shift linkage has anyone heard of that being bad? cause that is the only thing the same after the new motor and tranny.....i have posted this and i never get any good replys also it has a new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder sooo what is it people?
it seems to be a knocking/ shaky rattle sound...almost sounds hollow like from inside the tranny...but it only does it when the the clutch pedal is pushed in. Also when i push the clutch in it makes a *creeeeek* sound i read somewhere people said that could be leading to some other problems, another thing i have people arguing me down is that it could be that my preasure plate is to heavy and is blowing the seal on my clutch slave cylinder. and another guy was telling me why my tranny is notchy is b/c of my 4bidden STS well it wasn't notchy the for 1st 3-4 months so i know its not the shift i love that thing
the creek is nothing. if u have the tanny off just grease the throwout fork where it reaches the bell housing. and i believe theres a spring or something in there that needs to be greased aswell.
I think what you are describing is clutch chatter. Does it when leaving the line in first gear correct ?
A dead T/O bearing sounds like a loud whining sound. i should know, i have a dead one ^_^
For some reason, ACT throwout bearings are a little bogus. replace it with OEM.
the clutch disk you are using, is it sprung or unsprung ?

It's sprung...but it has never made this chatter before....
another thing i am a lil hard on my car when shifting while im running but my clutch is wore to hell and back in 8 months i don't think im that hard on it. would 6 puck be any different, maybe better investment for me ?
also i have the 8.8lb flywheel when i get a new clutch should i go wit a new flywhel or just get my old one resurfaced?

6 puck is the devil unless you are really making the power to necessitate it.
Lots of chatter, lots of noise, harsh engagement. just blah. bad street clutch unless you are putting down 400+ WHP.

Act throw out bearings= junk
its up to you wether you want to resurface the oem flywheel or go with a lighter one.
Im pulling my tranny this spring break to get mine resufaced(clutch chatter) and swap the act tob for an oem unit.
