Nonething really, the controler is black instead of that plated chrome silver. I didn't like the silver because it looked liked garbage when it wore off and it will. And there are some new panic disarm features on the 997. Nonething to to make you want to do back flips. 25 more, hum get the new one. Only because of the remote.

its a cool system. Its that people favor dei and compustar. Dei is real big on the west coast. I don't have to many people asking about comp. People also know more about dei because they go back a long way. Hell I remember when I was 12 and my parents got there viper alarm. It talked,lol. People like to stay with a company thats been around for a long time. Plus they have good customer service. audiovox is a good company I am not knocking them. They also have good customer service. and they two have been out for awhile. They just haven't made it into same auroa as dei. There alarms are good too. Any alarm is good. your alarm is only going to be as good as the install. Some just have better features and better parts and quailty. I rate alarms like this, "imo"

only cheap brands that I will use is the falcon and alert. only because if the brain goes out they switch them with anyproblems. And they do go out.
