Opinions needed asap:Remote Starter install advice.
I want to install a remote starter from circuitcity.com myself instead of paying the $100 installation fee. Is installing a remote starter hard. Can i find directions and diagrams to help me?
It is for a 5sp 2000 Honda Civic. I already have an alarm and power locks/keyless entry.

Depends. Are you comfortable taking portions of your car apart? Can you solder?

Are you purchasing a remote start designed for a manual transmission car?

dude i work at circuit city, u get the remote start but on a 2000 civic u need another part called 556UW its a interface for the chip in the key, which u might have considering u got factory alarm and keyless, u better read the manual really well cause u gotta hook up factory alarm arm/disarm go into and u gotta find the lock unlock wires all kinds of crazy ****, bring it to circuit city dude u can screw alot of **** up if u dont kno wut ur doin
I have to agree. If it was just a straightforward alarm then maybe you could figure it out. But doing remote start on a manual you're going to wish you just paid the $100 which is not a lot for the pain in the *** that it is. We get people like you coming back in desperation willing to pay whatever we want to charge them in hopes that they didn't fry their new alarm.
Alarms are especially picky. Twist and tape or bad butt connections just wont cut it. T taps or scotch locks like what BB uses are also very problematic.
I'm not sure if anyone at CC will even want to do remote start on a manual though.

Here is a tag in sheet... http://www.directwholesale.net...eID=3 and as has been mentioned all the connections should be soldered, also you should not need a relay for the "Clutch Interlock Switch" connect the remote starts "Status Output" or ground out when running to the starter relays side of the switch, probably a blue/black wire.
If the alarm system uses a "Starter Cut", motor will not turn over when alarm is triggered, then the starter output from remote start has to be wired in "down stream" of the "Starter Cut" relay.
To find out, trigger alarm and try starting the car, what happens, or I should say what does not happen?
Feel free to IM me if you need more help.
