Just wanted to let people know about a great school me and my guys just started to attend in So Cal. "The Fab School" located in Riverside Ca is a great school that has helped me bring my "guess welding" to a better level of knowledge.
We do alot of swaps which take the modifaction of the exhaust to match the new header etc. Before we just took the wire feed and welt crazy - guessing on the heat and speed. After going to the class we know how and why to set the setting certian ways.
I dont want to good to crazy here but if you are around the Riverside area please check these guys out. The class is about 15 or so guys and has 3 teachers which makes it feel like 1 on 1 teaching.

I own a shop and money can be tight - but this is the best investment i have made to better my skills for my customers since we got the dyno and trained on it.

That looks like one hell of a class room. I wish I was in the area to talk hondas and welding with you guys. I've seen the cars you put out and your red hatch is my favorite.

We paid 7000.00 for the 6 month class / 2 nights a week and 4 hours a night. Plus they offer EVERY tool they have in the class at a HUGE discount. We got or saved so much on the tools we bought it was like the school was free. Man they even let you come check out the class for a night and see how it goes before you sign up -

I thought so too - I was like man 7000-7500.00 is alot for me as a small business you really need to watch how we spend money. But they did offer us a payment ( monthly ) plan to help us. The cost helps the school pay for all the material we waste and the tools to be replaced when we break them ( haha ) sanding material/gas etc. Plus they have 3 big time fab teachers that really have hands on training. All of them have owned and still do full Off-Road builds on rails and every kind of Class 1 - 2 and however else the Off-Road stuff goes. So you are learning for real time guys not "book" guys.
Please they will help you get job placement after if you do good in the school - heck man 2 of the teachers even came to my shop to help me set up the welders we have so they really work right !!!!! Now thats service -

i checked them out after seeing a link you posted before. out of curiosity i filled out my information to inquire about class schedule and the like. it really looks like you could get a good education there, it would just be hard to justify the tuition just to learn more about a hobby... but that's just my situation. here's a copy of the info i received for anyone interested...
Thank you for your recent inquiry about The Fab School. Just to let you know we are one first state approved automotive fabrication schools in Southern California. attached to the email was also a microsoft word document containing lots of interesting class info. you can fill out the form on the "sign up" page on their website and they'll e-mail you the info. don't worry about them spamming out your info or calling and harassing you about enrolling, i got none of that.

i don't have any desire to become a fabricator as a profession, and that is why i said "my situation". i could see the school being very appropriate for a professional fabricator looking to improve their knowledge and skills or someone aspiring to be a professional fabricator.
for a great opportunity.
