Tranny trouble ? eww
I just recently bought a 1990 crx si. The car was slow as hell when i first got it and it had fitv problem. I took out the cat and it seems much faster. It has a non brand name exaust and k&n filter. Also about 100 lbs of sound equipment. This is the first crx i've owned and i was wondering what is the powerband for them on mine it's like 4-6k. The car is very quick in the first to gears but it seems to loose all torqe in 3rd. I was wondering if it might have the non si tranny. It has 233k miles on it so im looking into a new motor. Is there a dohc v-tec? How much would it cost to have the b18c1 put in by somone(guess) Thanks
The stock motor is not the fastest thing in the world. I hope that you do not expect it to do burnouts through every gear. B18C1 would cost you around 3,000-5,000 dollars depending on what you buy and whether or not you have hook ups. Its not as easy as buying the motor and installing. You need several other items to get you going but in the end it would be well worth it. I can almost garuntee you that you wont second guess that motor in third!!
What about my torque is that right. Should it be pretty slow in third. Should it be hard to get the car over 80? What motor would you recomend for about a 2k buget. How can i tell which d16 i have? Where is the fuel filter it probably needs to be changed also. Sorry for all the newb questions
