Default 92 JDM H22a Bearings

Hi im replacing my main and rod bearings but when i ordered them from a local parts store they sent me the wrong ones! So i took them back and the swore they were right. By the way my car is a 93 jdm h22. And on a little side note, i ordered a timing belt for a 94 H22 and it didnt fit. So i went with the 97 belt and it did i guess what i want to know is are the main and rod bearings the same from 94 and 97? Also does anyone know what hondas price is for these items? and what year do i get? these JDM motors are really tricky so can someone please help me out. Thanks alot

God Bless

Justgot new news! My JDM H22a is a 92 wich makes it a 1st Gen. The H22 in USDM cam out in 93, and i was told since it was the 1st gen that it was different bearings then all the rest. The JDM H22a 93 and up are the same as the USDM specs, but what do you know i have a 1stgen and it has to be different. Now i am just stuck. Look hard but know were does it say anything about the 1st Gen being special. So if anyone has comments or can help PLEASE post some stuff.

Thanks

Go to kteller.com and email the sales department there. I got ACL bearings for my 94 H22a from them (I know its a different gen then yours) after having to buy a new crank. Why are you replacing them? If they are worn out, you will want to check your crank as well and see if there was damage there. Mine was shot and had to get a new one. You will need to mic the crank and rod journals and then sent them the info. They came out as the "normal" bearings being needed (green if I recall).

wow talk about a wild mess you are in.

h22 rod bearings are all the same, 92-02, which are th same as accord ones from 90-01 as well
accord/lude main bearings are the same until 1998, when they changed there.

as far as the timing belt, all h22 timing belts are teh exact same. the difference is when the asshat at the parts counter gives you the wrong belt.

there is nothing tricky about that engine. you jsut say its a 1994 honda prelude DOHC vtec 2.2 and thats it

if the parts dont fit its because of the parts counter person usually.
it even happens at hond when they send h23 parts on accident.

this is incorrect. the F23 rod bearings (98-02 accord) are different than the F22 or the H22 bearings. I had a HELL of a time finding aftermarket F23 rod bearings when building my motor.

Wherever you go to get the bearings, give them the measurements you got and they SHOULD be able to tell you which bearing you need for each. Hondas are color coded based on their sizing; go to the dealer and they should be able to tell you what each colors spec's are and then get the bearing based on that. If you are going to get ACL bearings or non-Honda bearings, they only come in full sets, so you will have to get the set closest to ALL your bearings. Mine were all VERY close to each, so I was able to get a set of the ACls.
