Default compressing air

Does compressing air make the air hotter or is it the thermal dynamic effect of the heat of the engine has on the air that is compressed?

We dont put intercoolers after turbochargers for looks now yes it does.

Some stupid gas law.

straight outta physics23 I had about 4 years ago....

PV=nRT

Pressure*Volume=moles(atoms I think? )*gas constant*Temperature

With all things being equals just raising pressure (compressing since it's the same volume) then Temperature will rise . This is true for real world turbos as well along with wheel efficiency (nothing to do with sizing)

thanks yeah i knew the intercooler was there to help the density of the air.

looking forward for my turbo build soon.

god i got so many things to calculate.....or i can just start throwing parts on my motor and hope i make good power...j/k

i know the manifold plays a big part of turbo and getting the flow right.

i got a lovefab mini me EQ i was going to get it swains coated and wrap it.... maybe double up on the heat. should i make the dump tube recirculate back in to the down pipe?

I'd like to add that turbo sizing also plays a role in heat. A compressor and compressor wheel size play a huge role in heat. A smaller turbo will obivously spool up faster due to turbine size and AR, but since the compressor wheel is also small it becomes inefficient at "compressing" the air so the air heats up. A larger turbo although has more lag can compress larger amounts of air more efficiently. This is why turbo sizing is important. Once your power goals are figured out and you calculate how much CFM your going to need try to find the turbo that will be most efficient in that area and maybe a little room to grow for later on if you plan this.

yeah thats why i was looking at the sc61 a weekend car and track up to 500 hp on a built motor.

thats a nice medium turbo
