Default Headwork.... Portflow, RLZ, HeadGames, etc.

Im wondering who has had personal experiences with these companies.

Or if im missing any of the other big names out there in head work, please add them.

Im about ready to start another project soon. ive really liked portflows work in the past. i havent really seen any of the other big names first hand. although ive head plenty of good things about them

the head will most likely be a b18c1, my current head flows just under 300 cfm. im hoping to choose a company to get me over 300.

and i was hoping to see if anyone had flow numbers, service experience, cost differences, turn around time etc etc.

also, how do these companies vary in the actual work process. do most all shops use flow benches to get the most out of their ports. what else does one need to look for when shopping for cylinder head service?

thx

ITs all about RLZ for me. They are local and have done some Great heads. I think its in one of Boost-fed post all he did was add a RLZ head to his setup and picked up a extra like 60+hp but of crouse its a Race motor. They built my motor and Brad aka Ninja Head Porter did my head.

Joe Alaniz does some great headwork. That is probably one of the many reason why my setup makes good power. I am actually sending a head to Brad to have him work his magic and I am going to do a comparison dyno.

So will this be a "Alaniz vs. RLZ" comparison? If so, I can't wait! Brad gets my vote, I like Tom also

Well I wouldn't call it a direct comparison. Joe did his best work for me about 3 years ago. I know Brad's head is going to make more power. I wouldn't say it is the best comparison. I am going to go with one of Brad's big valved heads. I know it will make more power than the head I have now. Even though the Alaniz head I have now is the ****.

I have been searching on where to get my head done, but there are so many places. I'm sure all 3 company's in the title of this thread do good work. I have also looked into endyn as well. Would be nice if we could get a list of these company's and maybe there websites with some average prices for a kick *** head job.

The Head Games d16 head used on the Pink's FRM Civic flowed as well as a b16 head. Which is capable of 600whp. nm

id have to see proof before id ever consider that true. ive seen very good results first hand with portflow.

there also have been good results with just about every company listed in this thread.

ive been wanting to do a little more research about the theory behind these port jobs.

come to find out, it looks like the cnc port jobs are the way to go because its very precise and digitally analyzed.

from what ive been told, its not just about getting the head to flow the most, but also keeping the velocity up as well.
