just dropped a d15b into my96 hatch. It starts and idles fine. When we try to rev it, it wont go past 3500 rpm. The only code were getting is the IAT. We checked over everything and cant figure out what the problem is. Need some suggestions asap.

 

need more info, what ECU, what injectors, dizzy, etc...

 

I'm using the original po8 ecu, obd2 injectors, obd2 alterator, obd1 dizzy wired to obd2 and I used my originals 96 dx wiring harness, with a obd2 to obd1 jumper harness. Were almost 100% sure we got the wiring corect when modifying the harness. The car starts no problem and idle is ok. Just can't rev past 3500rpm and getting a IAT code.Also my mechanic sprayed air filter clener into the intake manifold while giving it gas and the engine revved right up like a champ wtf. What could be the problem.

Checked fuel presure its fine. Changed the fuel filter etc...

 

Manifold Sensors?
Any sensors on the intake side of the engine... are they all okay?

 

When you hit 3500 does it stop and bog down? That happened to me and it was ignition timing. You might not be getting enough spark. Also that intake spray is probally more combustible than fuel and thats why it revved fine. I dunno.
