Well i've been doin this for the past few weeks at school in the advanced inert gas welding program. It teaches about different aspects of welding, and we must cut our welds apart, and acid etch them to see the effect of our root and cover passes. I figured i'd share them. I fixed the pic so the sidewall, and root penetration that is shown from the acid etch stands out. Pretty cool how just the saturation button did that lol.
vertical up tee pulsed mig
3 passes 1 root, and two cover passes.

lap and tee same concept.

penetration shot. Acid etched and buffed to show the penetration.

origional pic

enjoy. I passed with flying colors, as i just did with my overhead. Next is 1/8th gap buttwelds. horizontal and vertical up. 6 passes

It looks like you were moving a little too fast though..But, not bad at all..I use pulsed arc everyday at work..i weld on submarines for the navy..Give me a couple days..And i'll post some pics too..Keep up the good work..Looks like you got the penetration..Now, just keep working on your welds..It all comes with time..CHEERS
