Default Noob Question...Sorry

I know this may sound like a ricer question or a newbie, however its also a good question in my belief.I wondering why a ITR sounds so much more rash and endulging when vtec kicks in over the GSR.I mean the only thing i can really think is the Lift of the vtec Lobe on the camshaft is that much more aggressive? The ITR also has a more aggresive fuel map than the GSR.Im sure many of you know the answer so please go easy on me.Thank You very much

The combination of the more aggressive cams, bigger diameter exhaust piping, free-er flowing muffler make it louder but it SEEMS louder esspecially because of it has no sound deadening.

but yeah, thats a noob question

The GsR's also have a dual stage V-tec cross over where as the ITR has one huge V-tec power movin cross over pop.

Haha ya i know its a noob question im surprised i didnt get laughed at yet. When you guys say dual stage gsr i thought that gsr's just had secondaries opening up at 4400 with vtec around 5800.I dont even hear a cross over till 4800 though. If a gsr has itr cams with a single-runner manifold setup and free flowing exhaust would the vtec be similar in noise comparisson.

Haha even i cant believe i am asking about "How du i make my car sound Like HypE ARRR VTECCCCHHHHHHH" uhh sorry lol

more fuel as well...

my vtec xo sounds and feels absolutely crazy... 232whp with a JUN header, mandrel bent 2.5" piping from collector to a JUN MM Muffler without any interruptions in the piping (no cat, no resignators) and really i can't help but to hit vtec right as i'm driving by a bus stop sometimes

sometimes i get groups of people jumping up and down cheering me on (LOL) and sometimes people take cover, anyhow it can be pretty funny sometimes.

FYI: It's the other way around, VTEC engages at 4400, then secondary runners open at 5800 in the GSR.

Why do you want to feel vtec? Vtec in all reality should have smooth crossover.

Its not that i want to feel vtec i just wanted to distinguish between the both of them.If vtec engages at 4400 it tells me that it is not that..that im hearing but more or less the secondaries at 5800(which is the only thing i hear not vtec at 4400).Im not into modding cars nor will i try to make my car hear vtec.I use to be into this sort of thing about 3 years.I however just got a GSR on a trade in and was comparing it to the ITR i have driven before.

The aformention stuff along with the lack of sound deading makes it sound a little different.

Remove the sounds suppression devices from a GSR and I bet it would sound very close to the R.

It's the sound deadening for sure. GSR sounds quiet as hell stock. When my R was stock I remember it being much louder then my frends brand new gsr which was like a whisper of sound.

IIRC, the ITR doesn't have the butterfly valve the GSR does. However, I may stand corrected. I don't remember seeing one, but I'm forgetting more and more each day.

Nope, sure doesnt. Completly different intake manifold designs.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=766629 this thread alone holds most of the answers to any question. I've had my ITR for 2 years and still look through this thread for answers.
