Im tired of sleepless nights wondering what I should do. Turbo? H23a? H22a? So tomorrow, I will begin order H23a1 parts. Why?
#1. Plug and Play. I hate wiring.
#2. Drops in.
#3. Cheap.
#4. See Above.
#5. I could go turbo, but it still would be SOHC non-vtec.
#6. I like the non-vtec underdog character my car has.
#7. Because a poll in the accord forum told me to.
INPUT/ADVICE/OPINIONS WELCOMED

Your car. But I prefer a Vtec assisted motor. Adds some spice to a NA set up.
But oh well, it's your thing. Best of luck with the swap.
You can always put a VTEC head on it

i agree.. i have a 96 and all i would have to do is get engine harness, ecu and motor *long block*
so much cheaper and easy to install compared to the others
plus when you turbo. you got the torque and long gears plus good compression
i could be wrong.. wouldnt be the first time

make sure you use your PS, alternator and A/c pumps and brackets from your accord.. and you might have to 'shim' the brackets a little bit..
get the h22a its a much better motor and to wire it up for vtec is only 4 WIRES
you cant get stressed over 3 little wires
vtec oil pressure
vtec solenoid
knock sensor
and if you keep your accord ecu, you can just get an APEXI S-AFC and it will automatically take care of the vtec wiring and fuel mapping
I had the h23 in my prelude and, well, if you wanna get beat by single cam vtec CRX's all day long, thats up to you...
oh I forgot.. the h22a has a duel butterfly intake.. you may have to get the h22a ecu.. its only 2 more wires, but you head will probably explode over this
haha

Basically three wires difference between the two engines. They both mount with slightly modified stock mounts. Also each one requires you to do some mods to the stock harness like adding IAB, moving some plugs around and to switch the EGR Solenoid and O2 heater sensor wires at the ECU. The three extra wires needed to get VTEC to work properly are not a big deal, really.
