Heh, I don't like the rough flange What was used to cut it? Doesn't look water table or laser, and if cnc... cut with just biting from the side? (just teasing/curious btw )

But the consistency of the weld is almost robotic... very nice rhythm.

How bout some pics of 16ga. tubing butt welds? Everybody cheats and shows a flange weld, we all know those are the easiest to make. Does look nice though.

that's why you walk the cup. i'd say this weld was done using that technique. looks better than anything i'll ever do.

Negativo captain. If he did anything he just slid the cup along the surface. Honestly, it just looks likes he has a steady hand.

a steady hand doesn't explain bead consistancy. And "sliding the cup along the surface" is called walking the cup

walking the cup is rocking the cup back and forth while moving forward not dragging it along a surface. that's why its called walking ...not pushing...or dragging.

As underthehood stated, walking the cup is more than just dragging the cup along the base metal. It is moving it back and forth in "((((" type of motion...

Kyle</TD></TR></TABLE>

not what i was told... "((((" is called weaving. if it isn't walking the cup, then what is the proper term? dragging the cup? pushing the cup? sliding the cup? i'm confused now.
