Default 5th gen head on 4th gen block H22? Compatible??

Could i throw on a h22 head form a 5th gen on my 4th gen block?? I will be using all the parts i have from my h22 head. Im lookin for a bare head that i can throw all the valvetrain on.

They're both H22, there's no differece as long a sthe block is a H22 as well.

are there obd1/obd2 issues if he does that? what about smogging in cali? anything for him to worry about?

http://www.dmv.ca.gov it's a pain in the *** to find, but you can make an appointment to have a state ref call you so you can ask him swap questions. i'd do that.
