Default What Gauges Are These, and Will they work in my hatch?

STD Cluster:

Other Cluster:

My friend gave me these gauges he said he found them at the junk yard but didn't know what they were from.
My STD Gauges are on the right, and the new one is on the left. I'm thinking it came from like a 88-89 4door, but will I be able to get them to work in my 91 STD Hatchback? I hooked them up and all the plugs plugged it and some of the lights worked but I didn't get to put it back together because it got dark.

Will they work?

Looks like a CRX Si Cluster to me. It should fit or else the one I have will have to be returned.

you have a 91 im guessing. to get the 89 cluster to work you need the 88-89 cluster cover and you need to redo wiring.. you could try the search feature.

yea its an 88-89 cluster and you can get it to work in your car. i had a 90-91 cluster in a 88 civic. all i had to do was repin the connectors to the 90-91 connector. so u will also need the 88-89 connectors and repin ur 91 wires to em. that makes sense?

I cant find anything, All the posts I have found with the same problem as me they get told to search. I cant find anything.

Anyone know where I can find out how to rewire a 88-89 cluster to a 90-91 car?

take a pic of the idiot lights and ican tell ya what body and year it's from

if the highbeams are in with oil, etc... then 88-89 if up be left turn signal than 90-91. also if it has a cruse cotrol light than it's from an LX or EX sedan. if it had a BIG seatbelt light it's from a hatch. if not than DX sedan.

Cluster on left is 88-89, on right is 90-91. The top of the 88-89 is flatter than the other and you must use the metal mounting hardware that screws into the cluster or it won't fit when changing between the 2 different years (88-89 to 90-91). You will also have to move some wiring, and swap cluster hoods as stated before. Then the switches in the hoods are different, requiring relocation and more rewiring. If you find you aren't going to use the 88-89 cluster, I might be intrested in taking off your hands. Let me know if you need more help.

this guy is correct... its from an 88-89... i put one of those in my 91 but had to do a bunch of rewiring... also there will be a gap in the top if you don't get the 88-89 hood...

i'd say that you should save yourself some trouble and get a 90-91 cluster and be done with it... no rewiring and no gap... i learned the hard way..

Dean, what you want to do can be done but it takes a lot of work. You will be better off finding a cluster for a 90-91 model. I have been trying to get a working cluster for my 16 year old son and have discovered that there is a lot involved in getting a cluster to work. E-mail me and we can talk. Good luck, Dan
