walbro 255 fuel pump question
i bought a walbro intank fuel pump recently. i have yet to install it but iw as looking at some sites and reading the instructions it came with... apparently some kits come with the wireharness and the little peice of plastic that hold it into the assembly where the stock fuel pump goes, and some don't need it. mine didn't come witht he wires nor the support piece... is that normal for my car or am i going to have to fandangle something?
you will want the harness that comes with the pump. its a walbro only part. you'll see the connector on top of the fuel pump. you need to splice them in with the existing positive and negative from your car wire harness.
but i don't need anything other than that? because if you look up the pump on ebay, you see it's got the harness and then some little plasticy doodad (which according to the instructions might be needed depending on the application)
that I cant say sir, you'll have to look at your application. that plastic piece is a spacer. I have these pumps on my 1993 RX7 and my 89 RX7. Good pumps...
thanks a lot. if anything, i'll just have my techs work something out. they can always just solder the wires to the pump and rig something up to hold it in place

not sure how the prelude pump connector is, on the accord and civic i put a walbro in, they connector was the same as stock, so no need for the extra walbro pig tail.
and i dont remember using any special spacer to secure it to the stock location either, but don't quote me on that since it's been a few years since i last installed one

thanks guys. problem solved.
turns out the previous owner neglected to tell me he already had that same pump installed. so i just replaced the filter with a new one and dropped it back in. the pump i bought was given to the tech who's doing the whole install as payment (it was either $50 or give him a $100 fuel pump that i didn't feel like reselling)

i'll quote you on that, because that's exactly how it is in my sol, can't speak for prelude though.
