Default milling the head

does the machine shope have to take the head apart to mill it or is there away to mill the head with the valves in it?

how much is your head milled and what type of head gasket do you have?

I think it depens on the machine shop. The one i used to go to would do it with all the valves still in. I once had them mill a head so much they actually took a slice off one of the valves. RAN STRONG I think it was milled like eighty or ninety thou.

i think itd be better to dissassemble the head. theres chances of metal shavings getting inside. and if the head has a lot of mileage itd be better to get it rebuilt.
