Default Rota Wheels 5x114.3 - Type R Related

Gentleman~

Help out a former ITR member.

I am building an EG Hatch for HPDE use on weekends. Car has 5 lug swap with ITR brakes (can't beat this factory setup) and suspension. I can't seem to find any Rota wheels to fit my car in either a slipstream or Subzero model. I believe those are the models that Rota made this sizing if i am not mistaken. I want to stay in the 12lb wheel weight category and thought maybe someone could point me in the right direction.

PS - i would be open to 15x6.5 if i could find those also!

Thanks!

There are shlodes of people who run 15x6.5 slips on their R's. Where did you look? Not sure of the subzero's but am 100% on the slips. I believe there was also a group buy on 15x7 inch slips so occasionally you find some floating around in the FS thread on top of this page

These guys usually have the best deals and availability of Rota wheels, may be a good place to start.

That's the same link I gave him in the RR forum. Did you ever contact them?

Yes guys i have contacted the big dogs who sell Rota wheels. they BOTH have told me flat out that there isn't a 5 lug slipstream or subzero in stock and none on order. it sounds like they were REALLY limited production and that i may be out of luck. i may have to look at other alternatives.

Contact DRFlickner directly, via Honda Tech PM.

It seems to me that their inventory shows some things that would work for you. 16x7 +40 Slips in bronze seem to be in stock, for example. Although there isn't the choice of tyre sizes in 16" that you find in both 15" and 17", there are enough sizes that you won't have any problem keeping your car on the track with RA-1's and any number of other good all purpose tyres.

If it's just a track car and you're not going into Honda Challenge, then there are also some 17x7.5 Slips in the correct hub bore and offset to fit, and others that will fit if you don't mind taking the baseball bat to the fenders.

DRFlickner got burned a while back because he made the manufacturer come up with an entire run of 15x7 +40 5x114.3 wheels and then he had a hell of a time selling them to Honda owners who all bailed on him or who bought other wheels in the time it took to get the special production run over here.

But...there's stuff you can do with both 16" and 17" if you want.

You could also drop a line to Smitdog and see if he ever got rid of his extra set of Kosei. He had some 15x7 +45 that he wanted to get rid of after he picked up my extra set of 15x7 +38.

I just want to warn you to be careful doing things like this.

There's a general rule against group buys unless you are a sponsor and, moreover, moderators in most forums would jump you in a heartbeat because it's clear that you're in business.

I contacted Rota recently with a similar problem.
Apparently 5x114.3 is just none too popular in a 15" wheel.
I was told by a Rota rep. that they could/would order 1 set for me in the specs I wanted but it would take 8 weeks. (I was trying to get Torques in 15x6.5 5x114.3 +40 IIRC)
Most Rota resellers that I contacted said either I was out of luck, or if I wanted to order 20 pieces they could do a special order.
You could try contacting them via their North American distributor email address
listed on the website (rotawheels.com).

As quite a few others said, contact DRFlickner. If anything, call them at the shop (951) 734-4411 and speak to Dustin or Hikaru.

Rota makes a few 15" wheels in 5x114.3 (some in 15x7 some in 15x6.5) Some wheels may end up 1-2lbs over the 12lb range that you'd like though (ie: GT3's) and in some cases you may get a color you aren't that fond of

Talk to them, I'm sure something can be worked out

Contact Machiii.net It says in their inventory that they have sets of GT3's and TrackR's in 15x7 and 5x114.3.

They also have a bunch of sets of 16x7 5x114.3 sets of all the other Rotas. I've ordered from them before and they're great
