Isn't that just the Japanese designation for the Accord Type R? Or am I thinking of something else?

In Japan there are two versions of the ATR (Accord Type R). One is called the Torneo Euro R and the other is called the Accord Euro R. The Engine is a 220ps H22A and you can have any tranny that you want as long as it is a close ratio 5 speed manual. Sorry but both links are in Japanese.

Dee's correct. The only difference between the Torneo R and the Accord Euro R are basically minor cosmetic differences like the head and tail lamps. The original Torneo basically sported a different front end and rear lights than the Accord.

Dreal huh? New name?

Anyways I found it just poking around a little and wondered why we never even heard of it. Now I see, looks kinda fun... And we in the US don't really deserve so much fun Looks to be peppy little ride? Are they popular?

I want those seats, JDM Recaros, Mmmmm...

Thanks,

A.

Japan always gets the fun models out there. From what I hear Accords aren't really popular out there, but then again could be wrong. I think adding the Euro R line to the accord and torneo was to try and boost sales.

The seats are recaro "sport" seats, just with different material

I would love to see a ATR conversion of the torneo on a 4dr accord in the states. I guess accord owners arent hardcore JDM fans like integra owners.

The ATR and the USDM accord seem TOTALLY different cars unlike the ITR and jdm ITR.

I posted a link to a 400hp Turbo ATR in the Accord forum a while back and those pig stickers barely even looked at the post. !

No, this is truely interesting.

What are the performance numbers and specs for this car? And what major differences does it have from the standard Accord over here?

Ya got my attention.

Chassis seems to be totally different. Accord and Tornero Rs get LSD, slightly flared fenders for the larger wheels, H22A 220ps engine (same that comes in the Prelude Type S). Interior seems totally different too i.e. dash.
