Suspension Noise Getting Worse
'94 Accord 240K miles.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Started off as a slight clank coming from front right side 1 year ago when going over potholes and bumbs. The noise gradually became worse. I replaced the front suspension dampers with Autozone Gabriel dampers, without solving the problem. Replaced lower ball joint, and tie rod both sides. In the process of swapping out UCA, inner axle joint extended, so I tried forcing it back in with the boot still on. No luck so I ended up disassembling and replacing both boots on right axle. I noticed the casing of the inner axle had some nicks from my impatient forcing of the axle and thought nothing of it. I noticed the UCAs that I bought from a parts store was different in that the 2 mounting bolts freely spun about the axis which they were pinned to the arm, while the stock ones have a bushing that prevents easy movement. Replaced both UCAs. Made sure that dampers are alligend with fork notches. Still no luck.
Noise is still there but now worse sounding like a clunk. I checked suspension bushings and cant find anything wrong. Advice is appreciated.

The car isn't lowered. But I found something that my be key in diagnosing. When I turn the steering wheel extremely left or right while cruising I get a nasty grinding noise followed by a pop. It's not the clicking noise accustomed to worn cv joints. Could this be the steering rack?
Nevermind that grinding pop noise. My friend pointed out that my tierod ends were on the wrong side LH/RH. Duhhh. But by suspension still makes that nast noise when going over bumps and there is nothing loose under my car. Someone suggested the uppermost rubber strut mounts. What do you guys think?

turn the steering whee all the way to the left. go to the passenger side and get underneath (use jack stands) and grab the rack and shake it. hard. if you feel any looseness or play, you need a new rack or rebuild it. im guessing your car has power steering, you can only replace it with a rebuilt one.
I noticed that I can sort of repeat the noise my car makes on bumps by sticking my hand in between the coils and moving the dust boot around. This noise kind of has a squegee skweeky sound to it that I noticed occurs over slight bumps while going slow. So maybe when Im traveling at higher speeds, this skweeky noise is exacerbated into a clanky clunk noise. Anyone ever have interference problems with the dust boot?
I found out what was wrong. Looking at the shock tower while bouncing the front end revealed that the nut on the center stud of the strut wasn't tight enough. The bushing and rubber mounts were coming up off their seats. So I guess now I'm gonna have to replace those. But the clunking noise is gone!
