Default Help! Someone tried to steal my car and....

Someone tried to break into my car and broke both of the locks in the process. I managed to get into the car using a coat hanger, but I really need to fix these locks (obviously can't trust any of the savages in this town.

I've been calling around and it seems like junkyards or even discount don't sell "locks" as a whole. I understand what I'm looking for is the doorlock cylinder (i think).

Could someone help me out and tell me what I'm looking for and perhaps a ballpark figure of how much I should be expecting to pay? Thanks a lot.

I doubt I will know but, What year, and model car. Are you refering to the lock on the out side if so. I Installed power locks and alarm on my civic hatch and did away with the outside door locks. Generally j yards don't keep the keys to the cars in yard. Your best bet is looking around here on HT.

You might try getting the cylinders and then have a dealership make you a set of keys from the VIN of the car it was stripped from. Don't know if they'll do it without seeing the actual car with the VIN though.
