Re-painting moldings. Color match to car or Molding black?
Ok so my 91 si is black from the factory, and im putting on 89 bumpers and moldings. Should I color match the moldings to the paint on the car, or should I paint them with molding paint?
yeah i would like to know too
im painting them molding black this spring on my black car, but i was also debating on making them match to the car

i left the thin ones inthe doors/bumpers black but painted the lower sections (and lower bumper) to match the car.

Someone said it was just eating away a thin layer exposing fresh surface. Either way, it looked absolutely great, and if your car's Black to begin with, it;ll look even better. Trim paint. Keep the flat finish on the trim.

Painted the door trim body color on my crx, but the lower moldings got a fresh coat of semi flat trim paint.
Looks really nice with my 2000 civic si black with blue metalic paint( sorry, forgot the color name and too lazy to look it up ).

bad example but, look at the molding, i think it would look better black, when the molding is painted it looks too customized.
Now look at this
By the way, Im gonna put back my moldings and paint them black
just sand them all down with something like 800 grit and apply some Meguires "back to black"(i think thats what its called)... any advance auto parts carries it and its very nice quality... good luck
