XS power turbo?
anyone's input would be helpful. I'm going on an LS motor, I'll be using eagle rods, and probably CTR pistons. Only planning on boosting about 9psi street maybe 15psi on the track.
Do you gamble much?Could work great or could fall apart.Failure rate has dropped quite a bit over the last 6months -year.If you can afford something better get it but if your broke go for it.
how much is it? Brand new garetts = $550, rebuilts = $475. Id rather have a rebuilt garrett than a new XS power, but if its that cheap, people on HMT have had some success with them...
just bought a manifold, wastegate, flywheel, intake manifold, and getting my rods hopefully, so money's starting to fade. Oh yea, and all this weekend!

my buddy has a b16 turbo and has both the xspower turbo and ssauto manifold. the car is making up to 300whp and the turbo is still runnin strong. the turbo came right off his other b20 vtec set-up too. the manifold cracked and was fixed but the turbo is still makin power
i've heard really bad things about them, especially SSautochrome. manifolds cracking after so little miles, poor quality of work, etc. Customer service disrespecting customers cause they recieved parts that failed.

Sell those very unnecessary items and use the money to buy a good turbo.

Failure rate is def below %30.Of that %30 probably half of those are caused by user/installation problems.Alot of people dont pay enough attention to setting up the oil system and have improper oiling either because of a shitty return or to much pressure with no restrictor and blow out the seal.I wouldnt hesitate to try one just dont be shocked or heart broken if it did happen to blow.
