i have a problem but before i go and replace my engine i want to know if its worth fixing. my car was parked for about a year while i did some body work on and when i finally took it out this summer i was crusing on the highway doing about 70mph got off the exit car stalled oil light came on went to start it back up i started to hear a knocking noise so i shut it off checked the oil everything was fine so i started it again and the noise got alot louder and it still starts up now but the knocking gets really loud as i rev it up if anyone could please help me out i would apreciate it thanks alot.

 

sounds like rod knock.
means you need a rebuild usually.

 

same thing happened to me about a month ago. there was a broken rod and metal all in the engine. just got my car back today. paid about a lil more than 5200 for a howerd remanufactured engine for my 5th gen lude. i hope you do not share my fate.
