after installing my motor this weekend, it now decides to act up. i only threw one code and that was VTEC solenoid, and that is fixed. no more codes. the motor is a B16a, gen 1, and the car is a 1990 CRX Si. now, at idle and anything under 3000 rpm, it decides to pop, sputter and backfire. i checked my plugs, fine. new platinums. new plug wires, new cap/rotor. it only does it after it becomes warm. could it be my injectors? what about IACV? anyone know? thanks. other than that, it revs fine past VTEC.

 

uhhh are ur plugs black? white? are ur wires on right in the right order

 

my IAC valve was stuck closed. my rad has a hole in it, though, so i can't try it till i get my fluidine tomorrow. i'll let you know if that was it. it was also idling rough, too.

 

check your "New" cap- make sure you didn't break the coil tower or conductor in the cap-

 

the rough idle is probablt your iac......check your wires to make sure there in the right order

 

Or It could be the timeing

 

get ivan to fix it im sure hell make it better

 

coil's primary circut might be "open" when hot. Intermittant signal coming from crank sensor or maybe bfaulty ignitor. IMO

 

well, my bro's civic manual says to check the IAC first. i'll let you all know how it goes after i install the fluidyne tonight.
