well today i tried to take out my stock radio for to place in my new headunit..i took out the ashtray and the screws in behind it...but i still can't manage how to take out the "pocket" piece under the radio...and the radio itself...is there a clip back there? do i just yank it out? i didn't want to break anytyhing so i just put it back together...if anyone can tell me how to take it out ..it would be a great help..thnx..

 

The pocket is connected to the head unit, but I don't remember if/where those are screwed down.

 

there are 2 screws behind the deck, you need small hands and a stubby phillips to get to them. the pocket is attached to the deck so the deck and pocket come out as one....good luck

 

i had to take the whole centre console out (e-brake surround/gear shift surround) to get at my stereo, there is a metal bracket connected to the back of the stereo, which has 2 bolts that are bolted to the bulk head. the lower pocket is screwed onto the stereo so the stereo has to come out before you can detach the pocket.
