Went to install a stereo and the thick black wire that has a male end on it that you plug into the streo is not there.....What can I do?? I believe it the antenna/groung wire?? Please help.

 

What car?
It is the ant. lead, and it has a standard motorola ant. end on it, [most cars].
Is there an ant., [mast] on the car?
Has it just fallen down and you can't see it?
On some Honda/Acura's there is a short extension, is it missing?
Was it cut/ripped out during a theft of a HU? 94

 

It has shoddy wiring anyway but there is no wire what so ever for the antenna.It has an antenna above the drivers door,it's an 88 civic,how could I trace it down?? Where would I start looking??? Left...right.....under carpet???? HELP!!!!!!!!!!

 

It's an 88 civic and I noticed when I bought it the stereo didn't recieve any stations on the radio so I pulled it and the big black wire with the male tip end on it that you insert in the back of your deck is nowhere to be found??? Any ideas??? Where should I look?? It has the antenna above the drivers side door but where would I back track to try and find the wire??? Calm down freak. It goes down the A pillar to the driver's dash near the fuse box across to your radio.

I can see the wire disappear behind the dash but I really don'y want to have to take my whole dash apart to try and find it can someone zero me in on the right direction it should exit cause it's nowhere near my stereo,console is off and I can't see it.Be a hero not a zero like the last guy who replied!!!
