WTF??
Im getting 180 miles a tank on my 1990 crx si. That's what im getting if it is all interstate miles. I was wondering what the hell could cause this. The car doesn't seem to be missing but it does have 233,000 miles on it. Any clue to what could be causing this? I took the cat off and welded in a strait pipe.
i get about that, i also let my car warm up for like 10 minutes before i go driving cuz its winter here, and its kinda cold outside, so it basically idles for 10 minutes, and that adds up for gas. but u said interstate miles, im guessing thats the freeway, that i dont know, maybe ur intake filter is clogged
do you maintain ur car properly??? air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, rotor, cap, oil change. you have a 10 gallon tank. On my rex, it looks like its time to fill up, like all the way down. but when i go fill up it goes to like 8 gallons then stops. this means i have 2 gallons left. about 50-60 miles left of gas.

But have you actually checked the MPG? That would rule out a faulty fuel gauge. You can't just go by "miles per tank."

yeah i've put new spark plugs on it, just changed the oil to full synthetic. the only thing i havn't changed is the wires. Yeah it probably does have about 50 miles left on the tank. It seems like the gauge is off. It still just seems low. I guess what im asking is everyone else with the same setup getting around 180?

Pretty sure the SI has a larger tank. Larger than the DX? IDK for sure. Than the HF, pretty sure.
Oh, and great way to Title a topic.

Your fuel gauge is off, just like mine. The DX and Si have an 11.9 gallon tank, and the HF has a 10.6 gallon tank.
I usually get about 250-300 miles to a "tank" before the needle hits E, but it only takes about 7-8 gallons or so to top it off, and I've calculated the mileage to average around 37 MPG.

the gas gauge on all EF's are made so that when the gauge reaches "E" you have 2 gallons of gas left as a reserve amount... your gauge is not off

No, mine is broken. It never hits "F" when it is topped off, and it leaves 4+ gallons on reserve when it hits "E."
