EF Crossmember VS Traction bars
I am looking into buying a traction bar.. But I was looking at my crossmember and i was thinking,, couldnt i just modify my stock crossmember.. I was thinking i would take out the rubber and machine an drill a piece of aluminum to fit inside that space and that would stiffen up my crossmember... Has anyone tried to do anything like this..?? I own a machineshop so I can do it.. But will this bust any other parts on my suspension or wouldnt it be just like a traction bar?? Only for a fraction of the price... What are your thoughts???

you can take out the slop with a spherical bearing in the xmember mount. you obviously arent going to save any weight, gain any space, or have adjustable caster.

scroll down to crossmember bushings.

So your telling me just to add a spherical bearing, Into the area where the mount is located in the x member.. ? I can also machine arms with threads so the stock member can be adjusted..
prothane bushings will do wonders. if this is a street driven car, anything stiffer will wear pritty quickly. if its a weekend worrior, then go with any of the solid peices out there. off the top pf my head, i think opm makes something.
