Default ALL S.O.H.C. Monsters check in !

In the middle of building my 1991 si hatchback sohc and wondering who else is running a SOHC setup.

This is a "daily driven" build so it will consist for a tune to run 92 octane.

I rock a SOHC. But only a stock dp D15 in my sedan. But one day I'll get around to building something a little more peppy than what she's got now. Nice to hear the sohcs getting some representation!

Oh, that real high-compression (18:1) is still going to be done--I have a bare d16a6 block sitting here that I am going to use. I have just been working on my current 1.8--getting it running well. Also, Jt-sport, what was the compression of your sohc-vtec motor? And what did you do with the DCO/sp 50--since you were running 48s on the sohc-vtec?

did you going to run 90mm stroke or d15 crank??
no issue for the dcoe 50 or 48, acctually the sohc vtec was my costumer car, thats not my car, mine was the sohc non vtec with 14ish CR (im forgot exact number), and the only carb i have was the 50mm. i never dynoed, wich carb work better from 45 to 50 on 1.7-1.8L form, because i ussually only switch 45mm to 48mm for the sohc vtec on the track but i didnt notice any significant change in ET.

Ideally, what I would like to do is run like an 84mm crank with a long rod in the 1.6 block--with the 1.6 main bearing size. With a 79mm bore, and the compression.

Th airhorn was just to route some extra air into the back of the engine. I'm not sure about it's effectiveness, but I had the pipe and horn laying around, so I gave it a shot. Yeah, a short FD would help a lot, but it's outta my budget since it's like $900 for a cable D tranny. OUCH!! I fully plan on breaking 12's this spring with a few minor mods.
